After having sharpened their blades for five years and being devoted to the cult of Nosferatu, Sacrifizer's French Hard Rockers are now ready to get out of their coffin with their debut album.Titled in French as another tribute to their rock elders - "Le Diamant de Lucifer" - is an intense and burning gospel of death.No mercy! No surrender! Make war or be ripped under the grave! Hail Satan!The fact that Osmose Productions call the band "French Hard Rockers" sounds cynical, if not insulting. Let's get one thing straight here: SACRIFIZER are a Die-Hard-Speed Metal band who create an incredible musical massacre with razor-sharp riffs and high-speed drum salvos. This is exactly what their new album "Le Diamant De Lucifer" offers, with a good portion of Satan love - with demon goats and sacrificial rituals - as icing on the cake. Blackened thrash metal violence to my taste.The world of SACRIFICER is brutal and diabolical, a place where no peace-joy-egg-cake stories are told, but the glorification of seductive evil. The album cover alone is an artistic delight that makes the antichrist in me smile. Roughly speaking, the picture sums up well what "Le Diamant De Lucifer" is about: in order to gain Lucifer's power, a human being has to be sacrificed at full moon. The half-human-half-goat demon doesn't hesitate and stabs the monk with his left hand. Concise and beautifully staged.The reigning monks are also as motivated as this murderous goat in the songs. Driven by explosive drum salvos and loud roars, "Ascent To The Black Throne" makes short work of the Christians. The singer moans, hisses and screams his voice and whoever thinks that he will soon run out of breath is wrong. Towards the end he turns it up a notch after the "Evil Dead!" scream.For SACRFIZER, speed metal and horror films belong together like a fist on an eye. In "Lentite" and "The Portal", robo-melodies reminiscent of eighties horror music buzz and come in handy for those who need a break between the thrash massacre. The short interludes are a nice reference to the creepy film genre and radiate pure nostalgia. ("Braindead" sends its regards!).The sacrifice has been made, the diamond has been conjured up, now it's getting dark. The tempo in "Le Diamant De Lucifer" is slowed down and the drummer rains down double beats - this gives the music a wonderful black metal drive, which can also be felt in "Possessor". The genre-related side jump fits into the concept for the most part, only "La Cathedral" dances out of line. From one moment to the next, the singer changes from dirty screaming to a clean monk's voice, which sounds rather weird.The album awakens the horror-obsessed teenager I once was in me and convinces with a high-speed massacre in old school style. SACRIFIZER's music is mercilessly beaten into your ears that you can't escape. They didn't get the ending right, that's due to the monk's voice - apart from that, "Le Diamant De Lucifer" is a treat for speed junkies of the horror-loving variety.
