SARAYASIGN is a melodic hard rock oriented band from Sweden, headquartered in Örebro, with members from Örebro, Stockholm and Sölvesborg.In a cinematic experience, music can propel narrative swiftly forward or slow it down. It often lifts mere dialogue into the realm of pure poetry. It’s the communicating link between the screen and the audience, reaching out and enveloping all into one single experience. That’s what we try to do through our storytelling concept and our music.Like the exampled album “Operation: Mindcrime”, our songs are stories, and they are all drawn from the fictional world of SARAYA.Through the eyes and words of the storyteller comes a compelling story that started out as a fantasy for creator Jesper Lindbergh almost 25 years and later due to various reasons stored away as his personal notes in hope someday a chance for them to be realized would emerge.Now, over two decades later, they are all dusted off and reforged into a series of tales, ready to take listener on a unique journey as SARYASIGN was formed and these stories could finally be unfolded.The initial story will be told over the course of four albums and Throne Of Gold is the beginning.SARAYASIGN is a cinematic melodic hard rock band, and we took all that we learned to love about movies and poured it all into the mix of this concept. With guitar driven roots from the late 70’s, and the cinematic experience of the 21:st century, layered with strings and storytelling driven, melody-focused songs with an edge, the listener will be in for a treat.

Every year, you come across a record that blows you away. A record that does something with you, that grabs you, a record you listen to over and over again to discover new things. The debut of Sarayasign is this year's record, what an impressive experience! We dive into this concept record, its creators and the amazing musicians behind the story!Sarayasign has been around for a while and was formed around 1994 by musicians from Örebrö, southern Sweden. Around that time, the band's drummer, Jesper Lindbergh, also started coming up with the concept of 'Saraya'. Saraya' is the world in its purest form. The gods created the land to ensure the goodness of mankind and care for each other, for nature. But 'The Dark', the evil in people, is destroying the world and the gods must do something to save their world, to bring back the balance. A book of secret scriptures to restore order is hidden in various places in Saraya. But in the dimensions of time, the people of 'The Dark' are also searching for the pages. Who will find the pages first and destroy the world or succeed in saving Saraya?The album actually has two chapters, but the songs can also be heard separately. Act 1 - 'The Book Of Wisdom', includes the first quests for the pages in the songs 'The Book Of Wisdom', 'When Worlds Collide', 'Run' and 'Stranger In Ice'. Act 2 - 'Distant Memories', is a love story with an abrupt ending, in which the search for other pages of the book plays a role. The songs 'Distant Memories', 'If Only for A Moment', 'Sandman' and 'Throne Of Gold' relate to this story.Ambitious? Yes, certainly. But 'Throne of Gold' has you by the scruff of the neck from the very first seconds. Vocalist Stefan Nykvist (Heartwind, Stoneface and the Holy Diamonds Dio-cover band) is the star.of the album. His versatile voice is akin to Joe Lynn Turner in Rainbow, Jorn Lande in Masterplan (listen to 'Stranger In Ice', the first singles 'When Worlds Collide' and 'If Only For A Moment' and 'Sandman', great!) . The themes of the album are reminiscent of Avantasia, Masterplan, Allen/Lande, Treat and the breath of the metal concept album of all times 'Operation Mindcrime' is tangible here and there. Classic rock in a modern way, with catchy themes, a lot of atmosphere (a.o. by the backing vocals, many keyboards and the sound effects). The production of bass player Daniel Lykkeklev and Jesper Lindbergh is dry and hard, I like the mix of Viktor Stenquist and Carl Jan Grimmark (both known from Narnia and Bob Rock), there is a lot of space for the guitar riffs of Daniel Blohm, who goes like a John Sykes and a John Norum in a.o. 'The Book Of Wisdom'. Delightful record!A discovery, this Sarayasign? A kept Swedish secret? Not quite, most of the band members from the Swedish scene have shown their qualities before, but Saraysign is a special adventure. The concept album is bursting with quality, the story of the record is complex, but nicely incorporated in the songs. Throne Of Gold' is released on the label of Narnia and The Waymaker singer (and rock record collector) Christian Liljegren. The first video clips of the band, directed by Joel Nilsson, can already be seen on YouTube. What a band!
